If you need a significant amount of power in your computer; for gaming, CAD, 4k+ video production, or other demanding tasks, then your best bet may be to build something custom, as buying a prebuilt computer from Dell or similar may yield something weaker yet more expensive than if you built it yourself. If you need that kind of power but don’t want to go through the hassle of trying to put everything together yourself, give us a call and we can either assemble components of your choosing, or put something together to your specifications.

How Much Does It Cost?

Custom desktops can by nature vary in cost wildly, but we would recommend expecting £1200 as a starting price. If you pay less, you’re likely to get something at best comparable to a mass produced unit, but without any real benefits above those. We charge from £140 for the complete build service, with any components we need to add included in the cost.

Can I Do It Myself?

Absolutely! There are some things you would want to think about though and those are why we offer this service. Your biggest problems would be:

  1. Choosing the correct components. Tools online can help with this and we would encourage you to use them, but we have experience knowing what works together with what, and can make sure your build won’t suffer from an incompatible or underperforming part. If you provide components or request certain components, you can trust that we’ll give you honest feedback if we feel one of them may hold you back.
  2. Optimising airflow. Many cases nowadays are terrible for airflow, with three big fans feeding through a handful of tiny vents, it may look nice but performance will suffer. We don’t entertain bad case design or misplaced fans, and will make sure everything stays cool even when going full throttle.
  3. Risk of build problems. The biggest risk in the entire process is often putting in the processor – the process isn’t complicated, but a mistake can get very expensive very fast. If we build it, we take on that responsibility and will deal with any faults, including DOA (dead on arrival) parts, or problems in the build process.
  4. You’re not alone. If at any point you have any questions, or need any additional help, support, or upgrades, we’ll be here for you to get advice or for us to fix anything that’s happened or make changes. Even if you didn’t buy from us, we want you to get the most out of your devices. (services will be chargeable outside of warranty, but we won’t turn you down)
